Steven Frankel is a Toronto-based contemporary artist known for creating sculptures and three-dimensional wall art made entirely from paperclips. Drawn to the material's simplicity and familiarity, he uses it to build detailed works that explore the themes of nostalgia and technology.

Steven works primarily with paperclips, a mass-produced object designed for utility rather than expression. Combining meticulous craftsmanship with narrative-driven imagery, Steven's work transform an everyday object such as paper clips into something unexpected, inviting viewers to reconsider both the material itself and the stories it tells.

"When I first moved to Toronto as an artist with big dreams in a new even bigger city, my
wife and I were enjoying the last of the fall warmth and eating Baskin Robbins ice cream
on Eglinton. We sat on a bench right by the Petroff Gallery and I was inspired by what
was facing me. I told my wife that one day, I would have art in that gallery. And today, 7
years later, I do."
