Born in Kuusjärvi, Finland, widely travelled, and a member of Glass Art Association of Canada, Minna is a long term resident at The Barns with a state of the art, fully electric glass studio in the same building.
“The power of nature’s inspiration came to me early in my life. My father, a renowned geologist, worked in several different parts of the world and the whole family following him to Tanzania and Ecuador when I was young. We viewed the world through a microscope and a telescope, read stories in tree rings and the layers of rock formations. I came to see patterns and forms that unify, which has given me direction in my artistic practice.”
