Contemporary designer Laura Cowan began her career in London creating futuristic jewellery pieces. She now brings her unique concepts to the field of Judaica, working from her design studio and workshop in Tel Aviv. Laura was born in Manchester, England and studied Silversmithing and Jewellery Design at the London Guildhall University. On making Aliyah to Israel she completed an apprenticeship with Yemenite jewellers in Old Jaffa.
Laura's fresh approach contributes to a new wave of exciting Judaica design, shaking up the traditional market and generating worldwide interest. Among her accomplishments is a limited edition mezuzah for the Spertus Museum Competition 2002 in Chicago in which she was a finalist.
