Kim Rempel is a visual artist living in Grimsby, Ontario. After graduating from Sheridan College’s Illustration program she worked as a graphic designer. In the early 2000s she traded the computer for the paintbrush and began working primarily as a plein air painter. In 2009 Rempel joined the ranks of daily painters (the practice of creating a small works daily and posting them to a blog). She continued this practice until 2013 when she moved into abstract painting.
"Although many things go into creating a successful painting, colour relationships are what fuel my work. What does this stroke look like against that stroke? What happens to the mood of a piece when I mix this colour in with those colours? These questions excite me and propel me to keep investigating and creating".
