Jared Last currently lives and works in Revelstoke, British Columbia and graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design with distinction in Glass in 2016. He has received numerous scholarships throughout his career, and has had the opportunity to study at both the Corning Museum of Glass, and Pilchuck Glass School. Jared’s work combines his interest in colour, pattern, architecture and the unique optical properties of glass to create both functional and sculptural works that invite investigation and engagement. Subverting the traditional function of the vessel and glass as a primarily functional medium while emphasizing the subtle phenomena of the material, he creates works that draw viewers inwards, allowing them to experience glass from a more contemporary perspective. Jared is the winner of the 2022 RBC Award for Glass Canada's top award for glass.
