Janet Byrne studied fine art in at York University, Toronto and The Art Centre of Central Technical School, concentrating on photography and graphic arts. With her knowledge of design principles and her intrigue towards dimensionality with glass art, she immersed herself in and experimented with various techniques of glass. Specializing in stained glass for many years now, Janet does all her work using the copper foil method made famous by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
She finds inspiration for her pieces in all aspects of her surrounding environment, often turning to nature to observe the myriad of shapes and colours that occupy it.
Her stained glass art sculptures can be found in private collections in Europe, North America, and Australia.
