"I am open to the world around me, in the end, my inspiration comes from within..."
Graduating from The Ontario College of Art in 1969, Elaine majored in textile design. Working in this tactile medium, she found enjoyment in the textures that were created on the handloom. With four looms of various sizes, she produced wall-hangings and tapestries, sometimes incorporating yarns that she spun herself. In 1985, seeking even more versatility, Elaine began to paint and in the artist's own words, "have not looked back."
Over the years, Elaine mainly experimented with watercolour, acrylic, oil, encaustic and collage, resulting in the production of various successful bodies of works. Her inspirations come from the within which the artist channels outwards using her unique sensibility of colours and composition.
