Devra Cohen is drawn to glass and its ability to reflect as well as receive light. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, it was there that she found her passion for the dimensional elements that can be captured in glass.
As her art and design career matured, she gravitated to glass on every level; blowing, casting, and sculpture. Kiln forming glass and then cold forming the pieces with her hands and machines allow Devra to create pieces that reflect light, with colour and shape that simply can’t be found in any other medium.
Glass captures her artistic passion because of the depths of colour, shape and form it can take. She is amazed every time a piece is completed and at the ability of her sculptures to provide a dialogue to the viewer.
