Melanie Dankowicz's elegant designs come to life in metal as seder plates, trivets, and other tableware. Her intricate papercut works include dreidels, mezuzot, and ketubot.
Melanie enjoys uniting traditional Jewish motifs with contemporary themes. Always amazed by the depth of space when paper and metal are cut, she designs a flow of lines, images and thought, creating a complex work of striking detail and warm balance. Her work adds beauty and meaning to our celebration of Jewish life.
Melanie began her artistic work in 1994 with the creation of a ketubah for her own wedding. She draws inspiration from the countryside of Illinois, where she resides with her family. Her work is crafted in the USA and enjoyed by collectors around the world.
