Inspired by her wooded surroundings, Gabrielle Kauffman’s pottery bear textures, colours and patterns based on natural forms and lines. Her studio overlooks a forested ravine on the banks of the Humber River in Etobicoke; here she creates functional pottery based on that of historical Dutch works, as well as the works of Tom Thomson, Matisse and William Morris. As a result, Gabrielle’s work is beautiful in its simplicity of form and decoration.
Gabrielle has trained at Central Technical School, George Brown College and the Ontario College of Art and Design. All of her work can be placed in a warming oven and is microwave and dishwasher safe.
