Emanuel Pavao

Emanuel Pavao is a Toronto based artist that works with the unique medium of tape.  Duct, electrical, masking or any other mounted on panel or canvas-board and sealed with a clear epoxy resin.

"My process of creation usually starts with a photograph that I take and base the layout of the design on.  The subject matter can range from store fronts to people to urban decay.  I apply the tape to either panel or canvas-board in both an additive and subtractive method and will often layer or scratch the tape with an exacto blade for added detail. Once the artwork is complete, I apply a coat or two of clear resin to seal and encase the tape, this gives the work a high gloss finish and prevents even the smallest particle of tape to shift or fall away".
