Ayala Bar's body of work is marked by an unprecedented path, governed by enormous creativity. She has worked in many artistic areas, from theatre to interior design, but emerged as a prominent jewellery artist in the late 1980s. Her current style features a blend of stones, glass, and beads of assorted materials, each carefully placed within intricate, ethnic designs that are still contemporary. Fabric beads made of silk or velvet are surprising elements that add a wonderful textural quality to her bracelets and necklaces. Whatever the stylistic definition of her art may be, Ayala remains an artist whose remarkable work shows not only strong compositional skill and innovative use of raw materials, but has also positioned her as the prototypical, individualistic custom jeweller.
Ayala was born and raised in Israel and continues to reside there with her husband and two children.
