It is a rare talent to conceive and create art that is recognized around the world as among the very best. Such is the talent of Robert Held. As one of the fathers of North America's Art Glass Movement, Robert Held's individual creations are simply magnificent. His work can be found in many distinguished collections - the Roland Michener, the Indusman and even the goblets in The Perfect Setting that graced the table of the Governor General of Canada.

Working from his own hot glass studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, glassblowing allows Robert to explore both a painterly approach and his fascination with surface decoration. At his studio, two large furnaces melt glass at 2300 degrees fahrenheit twenty-four hours a day. Glassblowers gather the molten glass on 5- foot long blowpipes, working quickly and skillfully to create these individual works of art.

In his current studio line, Robert strives to create pieces that provide both a tactile and visual pleasure. It is through this experience that he can share his passion for glass with the world.
