Indulging in a love and enthusiasm for beads, Francine Feuer learned the process of lampworking during the late 1980's. Largely self taught, Francine creates her beads one at a time at her studio on Texada Island, British Columbia. The beads are built up in layers of molten glass on a metal rod, and then manipulated and spun to create unique patterns. For added dimension, gold and silver foil is often added as a layer within the bead. As a result, no two beads are ever the same.
Francine has shown her creations in many craft shows across North America, and is represented by a number of galleries. She has also participated in group glass exhibitions at venues such as the San Anselmo Art Glass Studio and Gallery, the B.C. Crafthouse Gallery, and the Holtenwood Gallery. |
