Sara Shahak is an accomplished jeweller living and working in Petah Tikvah, Israel. Sara has taken inspiration for her uniquely tactile designs from the word "Shesh", a high quality, expensive white cloth worn by kings in Biblical times. To achieve such an intricate, delicate effect Sara uses fine silver, gold fill and gold vermeil techniques to create her stunning jewellery designs. Fine silver, employed in many of Sara's bracelet and necklace designs, is essentially pure silver that has not been alloyed with copper or any other metal which means it will not tarnish with time. Many of Sara's bangles are gold fill, gold that has been bonded to brass and is at least 5 per cent the total weight of the metal. Sara's distinct coil jewellery is made using gold vermeil, gold that has been electroplated onto sterling silver. Sara's passion for her craft is apparent as each piece is specially hand-made and makes a truly elegant statement when worn.
