Rachelle Goldreich's love affair with the magical medium of glass lampwork began in her early years as an avid collector of small glass animal figurines. Rachelle learned the process of lampworking in the mid 1990's when she was fortunate enough to apprentice with a lampworker who taught her the basics of the art.
Lampwork beads are built up in layers of molten glass on a metal rod, and then manipulated and spun to create unique patterns. As a result, no two beads are ever the same. Rachelle's specialties are the beautifully colorful flowers, butterflies and petals that so elegantly accent her intricate designs. Each whimsical bead is incorporated into a marvelous jewelery creation that becomes a wearable art piece.
Rachelle currently has her work on display in Wales and in several places in Israel and is very excited to now be showing her work in a Canadian venue. |
